Chess Sets
- Chessmen and Chessboard standards, as listed below

Chessmen
- Type: Plastic or Wood, Staunton pattern
- King Height: 3-3/8" (8.65cm) to 4-1/2" (11.54cm)
- King's Base / King's Height ratio: between 40%-50%
- King's Cross: less than or equal to 20% of the total height
Chessboards
- Type: Plastic, wood, paper, cardboard, leather, cloth, vinyl, marble; opaque and smooth
- Colors:
- High contrast between light and dark sections, yet pleasing to the eye
- Light contrast between the squares and the chessmen, which aids the eye in discerning empty squares
- Red and black squares are nonstandard
- Squares: 2" (5.08cm) to 2-1/2" (6.35cm)
- Tables:
- 27" (68.58cm) - 30" (76.2cm) high (normal table height)
- Provide ample room for accessories and forearms
